It’s hard for me to believe that 2017 is coming to an end. I remember when I was younger, every adult in my life told me that the years only go by faster as you get older. Isn’t that so dang true? This year seemed to zoom by for me, and now all of a sudden here I am sitting about what an memorable year this was.

I can’t thank all of you enough who have been readers here this year. Whether you found my via Instagram, or by word of mouth, I’m forever grateful for your support! Now, without further ado, a look back at some of the very best parts of 2017.

The Year of the Weddings

If I remember one thing from 2017, it will undoubtedly be that it was the year some of the most cherished people in my life walked down the aisle. It was a record year, and at times Zach and I split up to go to different weddings across the state! It was a bit of a whirlwind, but I wouldn’t change it for anything. We headed to Bozeman Montana for the first time ever this summer for my best friends Boho wedding (read all about that epic event right here!) And then we were fortunate enough to both be a part of my brother, and brand new sisters wedding in August. We wrapped up the summer by joining my best friend Cally as she married the love of her life in a gorgeous winery wedding near our hometown. Then I finished it off with my dearest friends beautiful intimate celebration, with the sweetest best man there ever was. There were so many other beautiful celebrations scattered in between, it was a year of love, and it was such a wonderful thing to be a part of!

Bachelorettes and Bridal Showers, Oh My!

Speaking of weddings, with weddings come all the celebratory events that go along with them. This means planning and executing both bridal and bachelorette parties. I had actually never been in a wedding before this summer, and then it was like BAM, sink or swim moment! I learned a lot, and we created so many memories along the way. I wrote everything you need to know about planning a blast of a destination bachelorette party right here! Just in case your duties are required in 2018–I’ve got you covered.

Running with the Bulls

This was likely the most memorable thing we did this year, and maybe, everIt was the most exhilarating thing I’ve done in my entire life, and sharing it with Zach was something I will always remember. Slightly crazy? Likely. Beyond memorable? Absolutely. If you’re interested in hearing more about this actual wild ride, and how to survive it, you can jump on the bull train right here!

Viva La España!

Speaking of venturing to Spain, this year Zach and I took off to a country we’d both never been to before, and had our sights set on Spain. It was one of the coolest trips I’ve ever taken, and made me fall even deeper in love with Europe, and Spain itself. The country is so diverse, and each region has its own incredible distinct culture. Tapas, wine, sunshine…I MEAN COME ON. It’s just absolute perfection. I couldn’t possibly to the magic that is Spain justice in this short tidbit, but I’ve written about our time in Madrid, Barcelona, and San Sebastian, if Spain happens to be on your bucket list!

London, Baby!

I checked another city off of our bucket list this summer, as we started our trip to Europe with a few short days in London. The history, the energy…everything about this city was everything I dreamt it would be and then some. I can’t wait to go back one day and spend even more time exploring this incredible place. Bonus points to make it even more incredible? We were able to nerd out very, very hard and explore every inch of Harry Potter infused sights we could feast our eyes on. If you’re a muggle like us but want to experience London like The Boy Who Lived, you can head right here for everything you need to know. No Marauder’s Map required.

Washington Wine Country > Everything

Taking a bit of a turn on this one to touch briefly on what I do outside of this blog many of you may know me through. In case you didn’t know, during the day (and lots of weekends) I work in the Washington State Wine industry. I feel incredibly fortunate to work in this industry, and I focus primarily on communications (both digital and traditional) but our small team wears many hats. This year we planned, and executed more in bound tours for groups of over 50+ people, for a weeks time, all in the heart of #WaWine country, than we ever imagined possible. It was no small feat, and I couldn’t be more proud to stand by my coworkers who end up feeling a lot more like work family. If y’all haven’t been to Washington to experience this incredible region, here’s my friendly PSA: get here now.

The Sweetest Surprise Vow Renewals

This. This this this. This was one of the highlights, by far, of 2017. Last year at this time, myself, Zach, and sister-in-law Bailey were scheming the surprise of all surprises. My father-in-law was planning potentially the sweetest surprise, ever. For my in-laws anniversary, he was planning to surprise my mother-in-law with a vow renewal on the beaches of Maui. Heart. swoon. There was one other surprise though too…she didn’t know that the three “kids” (what we will always be) would be joining for the celebrations! All our planning was very worth it when we saw these two lovebirds renew their love for each other in paradise. It was a memory I will always cherish, and somehow, we managed to keep all of it a surprise! If you’re headed to Maui anytime soon, I’ve rounded up the top things to do while you’re there right here.

Blog Launched

This one might be the thing I am most proud of this year. Last year at this time, I was putting the finishing touches on this website, while simultaneously doubting myself along the way. Who the heck would care what I have to say? What if I fail? What will people think? What if, what if, what if. I finally put the “what-if’s” to rest and finally hit “live” in February. This is something I’ve wanted to do for longer than I care to admit, and I’m so happy I finally listened to those voices telling me to put aside the “what-ifs” and just do it. I also can’t thank anyone who visits this site enough, you all are the ones who keep me going and I couldn’t be more grateful that you’ve chosen to follow along with my creative outlet. From the bottom of my heart, thank you! I promise that 2018 will bring even more and better content your way. It’s going to be one for the books…or the blog 🙂

Celebrated One Year of Marriage

Per usual, saving the best for last. This August I celebrated one year of marriage with my incredible husband. It was hard to believe that a year had already flown by, and how much we had grown together in that short time. I wrote a bit more about this on our anniversary. Zach is the best part of my day, everyday, and I feel so damn grateful to have him to share this life with. I can’t wait to see where we head next on this crazy journey of ours, but more than anything, I can’t wait to do it together.

Ahhh, 2017, you were one for the record books. I’ll always hold a soft spot for this past year in my heart, but am so looking forward to the new opportunities and experiences 2018 will bring. Sending you all love, and blessings, as you ring in the new year!
